Objective, Function & Achievement of the Organization

Name of the Office: O/o the DGCD & CGHG, Assam, beltola, Ghy – 28.

 

Objective of the Office & Organization:

  1. To raise and train Home Guards and Civil Defence volunteers as per authorized strength and make them available as and when situation demands.
  2. To develop infrastructure and procure equipments for the District and Battalions setups.
  3. To build a resilient, community – based emergency response system in Assam through a trained, well –equipped and motivated Civil Defence & Home Guard Volunteers.
  4. To strengthen disaster preparedness at State, District, and community levels by modernizing training, infrastructure, equipment and enhancing citizen participation in civil protection.
  5. To develop the Central Training Institute, Panikhaiti as Multi Hazard Training Institute.

Function of the Office & Organization:

  1. Raising and enrolment of Home Guards and Civil Defence Volunteers.
  2. Building infrastructures and procure equipments.
  3. Training of volunteers and regular recruits of the department, the SDRF & F&ES personnel.
  4. Administration of the organization, budgetary provisions and maintain financial discipline.
